I received a ph.d in education with a minor in Spanish and an m.a. in Spanish literature from the University of Arizona. A native of southern California, I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara & moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1998. I I began teaching Spanish at the University of Arizona in 2012.
I've traveled to Spain, Argentina, Chile & Mexico taking courses in the teaching of Spanish as a second language (Curso de Formación de Profesores de Español para Extranjeros) to learn new and creative ways to teach language. I've also taught English in Mexico. My goal is to find innovative & engaging ways to inspire students to learn (& love) the Spanish language..
